FAQ's

Where can we buy groceries? 

Lokuthula Lodges now offers.    There is a supermarket in town where guests can purchase groceries. It is open Mon-Sat from 8.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m., and Sunday 8.00 a.m. to Noon. Here guests will be required to pay for their purchases in cash.

What foodstuffs are allowed in at the borders?

All dried products but STRICTLY NO MEAT PRODUCTS UNLESS TINNED. Alcohol is limited to 2 litres per person.

What are the closing times for the Lokuthula Reception during the week and weekends?

5.00 p.m. Monday to Thursday and 7.00 p.m. from Friday to Sunday. If guests are checking in after these times they will need to proceed to the main reception at Victoria Falls Safari Lodge.

What are the closing times of the Zambia & Botswana border posts?

The Zambia border closes at 10.00 p.m. and the Botswana border at 8.00 p.m.

Is my vehicle safe in the parking area?

The resort provides 24 hours security.

How do I get from the airport to Lokuthula Lodge?

Transfers from the airport can be booked directly with the Lodge.

I am an RCI Member, can I check for availability directly with the Lodge?

The Lodge cannot check availability for RCI members, this can only be done with RCI direct.

Do I get a discount in the resort’s restaurants?

Yes, when guests check in they are given a Discount Card, which can be used, at any of the resort’s food outlets. The Discount Cards are valid for FOOD ONLY. Additionally a "Happy Hour" is scheduled every Monday where drinks are discounted by 50% and complimentary snacks are served between 6.00 p.m. and 7.00 p.m.

Where can I do my laundry?

There is a self-service laundromat near the Boma Restaurant (tokens are available at the Lokuthula Reception for a charge). Alternatively guests can send their laundry to the Main Laundry where they will be charged per item.

If we do not want to cook where can we dine?

There are 2 restaurants on the property; the Boma Restaurant, which is a traditional barbecue buffet, and the MaKuwa-Kuwa Restaurant, which serves an a la carte menu and overlooks an on-site waterhole. It is highly recommended that guests book for dinners as the restaurants get very busy.

Where can we book activities?

At the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge Activities Desk from Monday to Thursday and at the Lokuthula Reception from Friday to Sunday. Guests are advised to bring enough foreign cash to pay for their activities, as most operators do not accept credit cards and National Park entry fees have to be paid directly to the authorities in foreign cash.

Are the Lodges air-conditioned?

No, but all have overhead ceiling fans in all the rooms except the kitchen.

Where can I buy firewood for the braai?

Firewood can be purchased by the bundle from the Boma Bar.

Are we safe from the animals since the property is located on the boundary of the National Park?

The property is surrounded by a low-level perimeter electric fence which keeps out all the larger animals. Guests will however often see warthogs and sometimes impala walking around the property.
